Merry 2008 Christmas!

This's the season to be jolly fa la la la la~ MERRY CHRISTMAS! Hehehe!

Yesterday, I bought my very first copy of the Glamour magazine with Miss Britney Spears on the cover! It cost me $10.10 zomg...so expensive...but I had no choice because I was locked out of the resource room...and I had nothing else to do to pass time while waiting for the amino acids to stick. Why oh why was the resource centre locked? With all the time I had on my hands I could have watched at least 4 episodes of nodame cantabile! Nodame-chan kawaii!!! Any way I have a confession to make...it was so cold last night...that after the christmas party...












...I didn't shower before I went to sleep...

Late nights and early mornings

Good morning! Yawn...I'm so sleepy...and yet, I'm in school on a saturday morning. Actually I was dragged out of bed by my dear doggie this morning. Since the start of the month, he seems to have developed a self-imposed "wake-karen-up" morning ritual.

1. Jump on my bed.
2. Step on MY pillow
3. Look for Karen's nostril
4. Stick stinky doggy tongue in karen's nostril

OMG! Why is this dog so errily fascinated with my nose! Yes, dogs like humans, have a bad case of morning breath too. How did I find that out? My dear, it's called first hand experience.

Oh yeah, about em' late nights. I was in school until 8p.m. last night because of an annoying amino acid that refused to stick!!! An in the end it still would surrender itself to the entire peptide chain. It's like the little bugger has a mind of its own! Damn you isoleucine!

Haha..yeah...I remembered angela's twin sister's name - Shirley! :P

The Worry wart

"Worry" is the word of the day in my case. ;( I just realized that I had unknowingly made a string of mistakes with my peptide. But according to the very kind and wise phd student, I was't exactly in deep sh*t because my dear peptide could be saved! Hooray!!! He really made my day when he said that I did not have to re-synthesize the entire thing which would take like 40 hours!!! Thank GOD! Thank you phd guy!

By the way, dad didn't seem too happy when I told him that my life's goal was to become a professional groomer. I think he's really keen on making me pursue a phd or something along that line... But the thing is...I really love animals and I want to help them look pretty! Is that even too much to ask for? I've found a grooming course that I'm quite keen on. Should I give it a go? It costs a lot! So chasing after my dreams will probably wipe out my life-savings T-T

Rest assured mom and dad...I'll definitely complete my bachelor's degree in the Bio Sciences even if it's killing my passion for life. Sigh... Can't wait to finish the peptide! Can't wait to go home and play with Foxy!

The day before cosplay!

Hohoho! We'll be going to the cosplay event tomorrow! :) I'm super excited!!! Hehe~ cos uma and I are up to no good again...Gahahahaha~

By the way, I'm blogging from the school's resource room because I'm having my lunch break right now. One more hour to go before I head back to the lab to check on my dear peptide! I found a tiny purple crystal today...sigh...why can't it be a ginormous diamond worth millions?

I wonder how many amino acids can I stick onto my peptide today? Not many I suppose since I have 'dog-sitting' duties today = bring the foxy down to poop and pee+ pick up stinky poop+ wipe the dog's ass+ wash his feet (in case he jumps on my bed and tramples on my pillow)

No picture to go along with this post because my phone's camera is still spoilt! But the good news is that my phone's plan will be up soon and I can get a new one! The bad news is...who's going to pay for my next plan?

Sunday with the Girls

:) I just cut my hair yesterday with uma-chan at a Korean expat hair salon! I love it there!

And again, I was mistaken for a foreigner ;p the lady boss came over to me and said: "You want coffee, tea? You are singaporean?" Haha! She had a look of disbelief when I said that I was local. She said that I looked Korean. It must be the black hair I think. Hehehe~ I'm starting to like my black hair already :)

I always wonder why I'm constantly mistaken for a foreigner... even when I open my big mouth to sprout Singlish...geesh...

Britney's Circus

OMG!!! I bought circus!!! I'm totally psyched about it! After work, I rushed right down to the cd store in Jurong Point to grab the delux edition of the cd! It came with a bonus dvd and a poster! It's totally worth the s$20! Hehe~

Can't wait to start work next week cos I'll be synthesizing my very own sweet peptide! Yummy! >o<

Britney Tour Dates!

Britney Spears is going on tour!!! OMG I can't believe it! But it's really too bad that she ain't coming to asia. I'm guessing that it's gonna be a tour in the US. Dang..my phone just beeped...my sis says that she's bored at work. But as I always say: boredom is a gift from above. ;p

Anyway, here's some updates from my adventures at work. I reached the lab really early at 9.30 in the morning only to find out that Prof. coming by only in the afternoon. Lol... so I spent most of my day in the resource centre eavesdropping on any conversation I could hear...yes dear, I was desperate for company :3

When Prof finally reached, he buried me under a mountain of scientific literature. It was kinda fun to read at first but some parts (the diagrams) brought back some nightmares of my organic chemistry paper. If I remember correctly, I had only studied 10 out of the 12 lectures! I still thank God for not flunking my sorry a$$ haha. Arg, I should really stop thinking about the coming exam results. Just the thought of it makes me sick. Whew...there's still a month more to go before the great revalation. Thank god...

Anyway, I'll be going back to work tomorrow. I took a day off today to finish reading the scientific literature. But before work, Uma and I are going to take a dip in the pool! Wheeee~~~ Xp

Hehe! Yep, that's me as a simpson! I'm an otaku simpson lol! Thanks to Uma and her sister for showing me that webby where I simpsonized myself. Man...if I were a real simpson, I would definately go hang out with Homer at a donut joint and have a cold one! D'oh!

I can't believe I'm up and blogging this early in the morning! It's my first day at work in the lab! Haha...Prof said that I could come down anytime I wanted...so I'm thinking...nine? Is that too early? Gah...

I'm in desperate need of a new handphone! Life without a camera phone is the worst!

Gosh...it's been so long since I last blogged! Heh heh I've been bitten by the blogging bug and I'm now desperately itching to blog! Gah... but me thinks that my writing skills have been flushed down the toilet. How the hell am I ever going to keep up with the demands of blogging? Must write good English...pant...am exhausted...no singlish...gah...

Anyway, I'll be starting my holiday 'job' in school tomorrow!!! I'm terrified and excited at the same time! I just found out that this semester's examination results will be released on the 29th Dec. Now I have another reason to be terrified...it really hasn't been a good semester for me. Sigh...
